At VIN REPORTING, we stand behind the accuracy of the reports we provide. This policy
explains when a refund applies and how to request one.
Eligible for a refund, if reported within 48 hours of purchase:
- Your report was not delivered — including to spam or junk folders.
- Your report contains a clear factual error.
- You did not authorize the purchase. In this case, we verify the claim by confirming that the
email address used to request the report matches the email address used to make the payment.
If they match, the transaction is treated as authorized and is not eligible for a refund.
Not eligible for a refund:
- Reports correctly delivered against a valid, properly entered VIN, where no data exists in
Carfax/AutoCheck's own records for that vehicle. We rely on their underlying databases and
cannot guarantee coverage for every VIN.
- VINs submitted for vehicles older than model year 1997, or VINs that fail basic format
validation — our system blocks these before checkout specifically so this situation
shouldn't occur, but submissions that bypass this check are not eligible.
- Claims made more than 48 hours after purchase.
- Change of mind after a correctly delivered report.
How to request a refund: Contact billing@vinreporting.com with your order number
and a description of the issue within 48 hours of purchase. We review each request and respond
promptly.
Before filing a chargeback: We ask that you contact us first. Nearly all issues can
be resolved directly and faster than a bank dispute process. Please note that charges from this
site appear on your statement as "AppScriptX Ltd" — this is our billing entity, not a
separate or unrecognized charge. Chargebacks filed for a transaction that matches our authorization
verification (same email used to order and to pay) will be contested with your bank using that
evidence, including this disclosure.
